DEBORAH JIN

Deborah JinDeborah S. Jin, born in 1968, is most known for her work in leading a team at JILA, which was able to make the first fermionic condensate. She is currently a physicist with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); Assistant Professor Adjoint, Department of Physics at the University of Colorado; and a fellow of the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics (JILA), a NIST joint laboratory with the University of Colorado. She was awarded the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship "genius grant" in 2003, and in 2004, and was recognized by Scientific American as "Research Leader of the Year" in 2003.
